Trauma Counseling
When the past still affects the present…
You may have moved on, but some experiences stick with us. Sometimes the effect is super noticeable, but other times it’s simply a deep exhaustion that no amount of sleep seems wipe away. You may be able to show up each day or take care of others but still feel off.
You might notice that you:
Feel on edge, overwhelmed, or unable to fully relax.
Have strong emotional reactions that seem difficult to explain.
Struggle with trust, closeness, or feeling safe in relationships.
Carry shame, guilt, grief, or a sense of responsibility for things that happened.
Find yourself avoiding reminders of certain experiences.
Feel disconnected from yourself or find it difficult to move forward.
These experiences can have many causes, and not every difficult season is trauma. Counseling can help you better understand what you're experiencing and what kind of support you need
Depending on your needs and goals, our work may include understanding emotional and relational patterns, developing ways to respond to distress, or using approaches such as EMDR when appropriate.
You won't be expected to share everything at once or move faster than you're ready to. We'll work collaboratively to determine what feels useful and what fits your goals. Counseling means you don’t have to walk through these things alone.
